Before You Begin

Breathwork is a powerful practice. Please read the following carefully before participating. If you have any of the conditions listed below, consult your healthcare provider before doing this practice.

Do Not Participate If You Have:

  • Heart disease or history of stroke
  • Epilepsy or history of seizures
  • Detached retina (retinal detachment)
  • Aneurysm or family history of aneurysm
  • Blood thinning medication
  • Pregnancy or possible pregnancy
  • Asthma (without medical clearance)
  • Substance dependence or addiction
  • Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or psychosis
  • Recent hospitalisation for emotional crisis (last 10 years)
  • Other psychological conditions that preclude safe emotional release

General Precautions

  • Find a quiet space where you won't be interrupted
  • Don't eat a large meal within 2 hours beforehand
  • Have water nearby
  • Lie down or sit comfortably — do not drive
  • Have a trusted person nearby if this is your first time
